Welcome to Tonbridge Lacemakers

Tonbridge Lacemakers evolved from an Adult Education class taught by Jessica in 1987. The first meeting was held on the 14th November with 62 members and 20 years later we are still going strong.

We meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10am to 3.30pm at the Corpus Christi Church Hall, Lyons Crescent, Tonbridge.  Most months we have a supplier, speaker or workshop. Our members make all types of lace from the traditional Torchon, Bedfordshire, Bucks Point and Honiton bobbin laces to crochet and tatting.

Although we cannot provide lessons, our members are always willing to answer a question or two and to help other members. We have a comprehensive library, from which all members are entitled to borrow.

Our members also benefit from a quarterly newsletter, full of information and fun articles.
The cost of a yearly membership is £17.

The group organises the annual Tonbridge Lace Fair, which has many suppliers and more than 300 lacemakers visit.

Our members are always willing to demonstrate at events and this year we will be demonstrating at our Lace Fair.
